Enrique

Enrique has been chosen to be trained as a veteran therapy dog.  We are so proud of him.  They chose him from his Volhard aptitude testing.  If you'd like to know more about what that is, go to www.volhard.com.

They asked if we would like to be involved in naming him.  They name the puppies a military or patriot name.  I will send the name votes to her tonight, here are the list of names that have been approved for their program.  I told her we stay away from names that have the 'sssss' sound or 'ch' sound, it's a dog's natural instinct to stay away when they hear those sounds.

I.L.B.E. (Individual Load Bearing Equipment) Note: We already have an A.L.I.C.E
in the program. They are both names for basically the same pack.
Daily (Dan Daily: Marine, Double Medal of Honor Recipient)
Teddy (Teddy Roosevelt)
Bennie (Benefits)
Elliot (George Elliot, 10th commandant of the Marine Corps)

so far we have
Elliott - 4
Teddy - 3
I.L.B.E. - 1 (from our two boys' marine family's choice)

I will send her our votes tonight, of course my favorite is Elliott since he's from the "E" litter.

here's pictures of him from about five weeks on,
 almost 7 wks old
caught him playing with our 16 wks old puppy, La Roux.  He's an active, little bit of a tough guy,

what is Enrique like right now? I was in cleaning up the puppies, I was talking to all of them, petting them, etc. I look up and Enrique is staring very intently at my face. I looked at him, he immediately relaxed like a cool, boy. He didn't stop looking at me. He softened his look. I walked toward him and pet him, his eyes softened and put his nose up to get a good pet on the head. I picked him up, he snuggled under my chin. He's a very awesome little boy. He's big boned for this litter, he's nonchalant until he's looking to do something.

They chose "Elliott" for Enrique's new name, nice he is from the "E" litter ya know!

Enrique flys out on this week, send blessings and good thoughts he gets there safe, nothing wrong with good thoughts!

I know he will be received with love and affection
