Will take individual pictures soon, I don't think you can see their black coats turning lighter with a brown hue to them. Some like Emmitt is very brown looking, Ellington doesn't look very brown hue-y until you look at his legs, they are very brown hue-y. The top of Ethan's back by his tail is turning light, around his eyes are lighter, he has a lot of brown hue to his black coat.
Everly actually looks like he's getting a brown hue to his black coat, could be blue instead of black, he has no white hairs on the pads of his feet.
for comparison, Grace's last litter at four weeks old the silver puppies that are now silver with lots of blue had silver faces. If this litter is just slower is very possible, but ladies and gents, looks like we have two females turning silver (how silver I don't know yet), and many of the boys are lightening before our eyes.
Look at our website, Grace is dark with brown but is considered a silver due to she has a silver face, I call her silver/blue since her feet are dark with brown on them, but her face is silver.
Hilde was registered "blue" from her breeder due to no silver face at 6 wks old but the brown hue on her black coat but she looks black. In fact, she had the dark mahogony color to her coat until she was almost one when we shaved her down.
Everad is considered black (the sire) and was registered black. At 2.5 yrs old he's getting a few graying hairs to his black coat. Couple of the boys have that black small face like their daddy, but they might be like Everad not getting graying hairs until after two years old and will always look black.
Momma Tigre' is a cream and white parti but also sable, looks like that's where all of the silver and/or blue is coming from, the combination of Everad and Tigre' we got some beautiful silvers and blues that will be small standards.
I MIGHT ALSO ADD ... the puppies are slowing down in size. A regular standard puppy at four weeks old should be close to or over 4#, none of these puppies are 4# ... looks like we have all small standards, but Emmitt might fool you and be a big boy. Puppies should still be 22 and more, Ellington and Elyria might be under 20", time will tell. Funny ... first and last puppies are the smallest.
Looks like Etienne just might be sable instead of silver, this is my first litter with a sable momma, I am not sure what color these puppies will be ... we will know more as they grow, by 7 wks we will have more of a hint than we do now at 4 wks old
Elyria was 2# 11oz today, has a brown hue to her black coat, turning silvery around her keester below (pics 5/18/11), she got a chill standing on floor so I wrapped her up, she liked it. To compare for size, Elyria is the exact weight as "Daniella" from Hilde's litter born 2.5 wks earlier, will see if they grow up to be about the same size.
see all of the white on the pads of my feet and a little brown hue?
and the silver starting on the hinny
eating all by myself, no brothers or big sister to fend off
I'm four weeks old and one day
she slept like that for a while
---
I guess the question is, how long can a puppy sleep when she's full and comfortable?

I guess the question is, how long can a puppy sleep when she's full and comfortable?
she's still sleeping...
... now her sister joins her sleeping in the family room on the ... obviously ... beloved blanket
note the colors of these girls, I think Etienne (lighter black) is going to surprise us with her color!
Etienne 3# 1oz, has a brown hue, top of her neck is turning lighter - maybe not silver - maybe she is starting to turn lighter brown as SABLE? We might really be surprised with her color.
side picture - see her lighter colored keester? my hand is holding her tail
the best "picture" of her brownish undergrowth (new hair) it doesn't look silver, it looks brownish
Let's get to pictures of her pretty face (1st below the older puppies were hollering, they wanted the attention! She's like, wow that's loud, why am I up here?
all snuggled in the beloved blanket, sound a sleep
